Description

What better way to see the summit of Hawaii’s highest point than at sunset followed by a guided tour of the night sky. On the summit of Mauna Kea, you’ll be surrounded by the largest, most advanced observatories in the world. At an altitude of 13,803 feet, on the most remote island chain in the world, the lack of light pollution makes this an ideal spot to watch the heavens.

Not many guests arrive in Hawaii prepared the weather you'll encounter up here. With an average temperature of 32 degrees Fahrenheit, we provide warm parkas and gloves to keep all our guests warm. Also included is a warm meal and hot cocoa.

For safety reasons the access road to the summit of Mauna Kea requires a four-wheel drive, so it can be bumpy. Our custom off-road motor coaches will get you to the top and back as comfortably as possible. We go Monday through Saturday night, weather permitting. Children under 13 are not permitted on this tour due to altitude. There is minimal walking on this tour, the maximum being about 150 yards.

Adults (ages 13 and up): $299.00
